GCE 2.18 Release Notes

Family Portal

We’ve introduced Parental Preferences, a new feature that supports customised settings which can take numeric and multiple option values. You can now leverage this new feature to customise parental permissions — for potential use cases such as limits on screen time, spending, social interactions, content ratings, and more — enabling granular options beyond basic on/off toggles.

Product API

Trusted Adult Verification is now available as a standalone API. This modular, geo-adaptive endpoint allows you to verify trusted adult status independently of our full VPC flow, making it easy to integrate parental verification into your own user flows. The API automatically applies the appropriate verification method based on user location, supporting global compliance without custom jurisdiction logic.

Bugs & Enhancements

Developer Portal

  • Removed the “fallback value” option when selecting Digital Consent Age as the Minimum Age in Market Specific Rules (Product Access). For markets without a defined Digital Consent Age, the system continues to default to Civil Age. To use a different age threshold, you can still configure your preferred value under the Custom Age setting.

  • Increased the maximum length of permission names in Custom Permissions from 30 to 50 characters.

Product API

  • Resolved an edge case: When a market does not require parental consent but has an override setting a Digital Consent Age, the Global Compliance Engine now treats this as if parental consent is required. This behaviour aligns with how the system handles a Global Minimum Digital Consent Age override.
