Why we built this

Previously, if a young user wanted to try several games or apps, they had to send separate parental approval requests for each one — a repetitive process that could be inconvenient or time-consuming for both families and developers. We saw an opportunity to streamline this experience for everyone involved.

With our new bulk approval flow 📦 ✅, that’s all changing. Now, users can select multiple games and products at once, bundling them together into a single request for parental approval. This means fewer emails, fewer interruptions, and a much smoother experience for everyone involved.

How it works for developers

Our new API endpoint /challenge/create-bulk allows you to manage player-selected product bundles seamlessly. Integrating this into your platform means you can offer players the ability to request multiple products at once, with a single, unified approval process for parents.

What families will see

Young users browse all the k-ID supported games and products available to them — for example through your account system portal or directly within a game (the choice is yours!). They simply select everything they want to play, and with just one click, send a single approval request to their parent or guardian.

Parents receive an email listing all the requested games and products, and can approve them all in one go. 📥 👍 No more juggling multiple requests or missing out on new experiences because of a cumbersome process.

Parents remain firmly in the driver’s seat throughout the process. They’ll see clear messaging that the products were selected and requested by their child (as opposed to developer-recommended selections). They can remove any requested product(s) before giving their final approval, ensuring transparency and peace of mind.
